"Well, I may as well begin at the beginning and tell you everything straight through, so you'll understand it. As I said, Leslie's father was Frank West. He was clever and shiftless--just like a man. Oh, he had heaps of brains--and much good they did him! He started to go to college, and he went for two years, and then his health broke down. The Wests were all inclined to be consumptive. So Frank came home and started farming. He married Rose Elliott from over harbor. Rose was reckoned the beauty of Four Winds--Leslie takes her looks from her mother, but she has ten times the spirit and go that Rose had, and a far better figure. Now you know, Anne, I always take the ground that us women ought to stand by each other. We've got enough to endure at the hands of the men, the Lord knows, so I hold we hadn't ought to clapper-claw one another, and it isn't often you'll find me running down another woman. But I never had much use for Rose Elliott. She was spoiled to begin with, believe ME, and she was nothing but a lazy, selfish, whining creature. Frank was no hand to work, so they were poor as Job's turkey. Poor! They lived on potatoes and point, believe ME. They had two children--Leslie and Kenneth. Leslie had her mother's looks and her father's brains, and something she didn't get from either of them. She took after her Grandmother West--a splendid old lady. She was the brightest, friendliest, merriest thing when she was a child, Anne. Everybody liked her. She was her father's favorite and she was awful fond of him. They were `chums,' as she used to say. She couldn't see any of his faults--and he WAS a taking sort of man in some ways.
"Ay, ay," he called cheerily back to her. But Captain Jim had sat by the old fireside of the house of dreams for the last time.

It seems like an odd combination, but together with Outright Games it'll be bringing Crayola Scoot to Nintendo Switch on October 23rd for $39.99.In it, you'll be battling for the Crayola Color Cup as you work through six different team and solo events and wipe out the competition. As well as playing Spatter Tag, Trick Run, or a classic game of S.C.O.O.T., you can grab a pal and have fun in split-screen chaos. You can customise your own character, perform a variety of tricks and moves to get ahead of the game, upgrade your scooter to keep it fresh as a daisy, and more. It's also got a cool, neon comic book-like art style.Though I've not seen any videos of it yet in action it sounds a little Splatoon-y, don't you think? Either way, I hope there'll be some footage during Nintendo's Direct. That way we'll see whether that $40 is worth paying.
If you're one of those people who really loved Blade Runner 2049 and have been wondering how to get more out of the film without wearing out your DVD, then Next Games' mobile game take on the movie might be worth a look, and it's just gone into open beta on Android. As spotted by our sister site PocketGamer.biz, Next Games' Blade Runner 2049 has you collecting characters from the series to battle enemies and complete quests. Think Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes with a bit more noir and bit less Wookie and you're probably on the right track. There's also a multiplayer component, letting you team up with your buddies to take on bigger challenges and form "resistance cells". So, clans then.Personally, I thought Blade Runner 2049 was a load of old tosh, but we could argue for days about the particulars on that hot take and not get anywhere. The game looks alright though, and with Next Games having made a name for itself with two quality The Walking Dead titles, it appears to be in safe hands. All that said, I can't for the life of me work out where to sign up for the open beta of Blade Runner 2049. We also don't know when it's coming out for everyone, but it's nice that we have at least some details now, right? Watch this space in case we learn anything else.
