I've always loved when different genres collide and even more so when they aren't destined to or feel natural at first. The concept of a pinball platforming game for example, was always such a curious case of game design almost gone wrong but surprisingly, it works really well.

Yoku's Island Express, a pinball platformer for Switch, reminds me of Momonga Pinball Adventures on iOS and Android. Using a cartoonish look, it surprised and delighted me with some clever mechanics.

We even gave it our coveted Gold Award. Sadly, due to the nature of iOS gaming, you can no longer get the game on Apple's platform and that's such a shame.
"Oh, I do, Mistress Doctor, I do," protested Captain Jim. "Why, I live like a king gen'rally. Last night I was up to the Glen and took home two pounds of steak. I meant to have a spanking good dinner today."

One Man Left underestimated the work load it would take to get its Bronze Award-winning turn-based strategy game Outwitters to Android.

Originally, the studio confidently said it would be available on Android in January. The month came and went with no sign of its arrival.

"After a few delays (this game was a lot bigger than we remembered), Outwitters 2.0 is finally ready for a March release," the studio told us today.

To the studio's credit, these "few delays" seem to be highly necessary. It turns out that to port the game to Android it needed to be entirely rebuilt - hence the 2.0 label.
