The titular hero of indie 3DS game Shovel Knight is getting his own amiibo, and I'm going to buy one and kiss it.Not only can you put the amiibo on your shelf and look at it lovingly and pretend to make it fight other amiibo and your pets, but it will unlock exclusive goodies in the game (provided you've got a New 3DS, with its built-in NFC reader).Slap that amiibo on your screen and you'll get new relics, abilities, and powers, and can customise the armour of Shovel Knight. And there will be exclusive challenge stages.If you've got a Wii U, the amiibo will also unlock a two player co-op mode. No such luck on 3DS, I'm afraid.You can pre-order the amiibo right now on GAME but they overcharge for them and they never sent me my Little Mac amiibo and I'm still angry so I wouldn't bother to be honest.....

Bethesda has opened up a brand new studio in Montreal, Quebec to expand its existing base of operations. Most excitingly, the studio will have a strong mobile gaming focus.The core team has already been established and will feature some 40 developers, all of whom cover both console and mobile gaming development.As Todd Howard puts it, "We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there" - Fair's fair.Studio development will be headed up by Yves Lachance. Yves is known for leading on several mobile titles, as well as the Warhammer 40k MMO and additional Bethesda PC and console titles.Bethesda currently has a number of positions open for the new studio which you can check out here. Unfortunately, the listings don't give us any clues as to what's next, though we do already know about an Elder Scrolls themed card game coming in 2016....
